This week in class, we continued to expand ideas and create more details in regards to our movie plans, more specifically the genre and style. In order to develop ideas on what genre movie we wanted to produce, my group and I researched different movies and their genres to see what we wanted to recreate. We found in our research that the creative process is very important while trying to come up with these details. In an interview with Ron Beghetto he states, “Creative self-efficacy is a specific type of creative self-confidence that helps shape more global beliefs about our creative abilities and identity.” This quote proves the fact that having a creative mind is very important while trying to come up with details such as the genre of a movie. For my AICE exam, I have chosen to present a movie trailer in a group with Skylar Shultz and Elena Bretoi. Throughout the past few weeks in class, we have been completing assignments, reading articles, and doing activities to help us make our decisions as to if we would like to work in a group or alone. Although I have known both Skylar and Elena for a few years now, these activities made it clearer that we not only make good friends, but also ideal teammates. The first activity we completed was the “social media peer account” activity. For this activity we had to look at each other's social media accounts and analyze the photos and messages present. While looking at Skylar’s Instagram account I found it is mostly photos of her at the beach or parking garages with friends taking photos. Prior to entering this class, I had no experience with Adobe InDesign or Premiere Pro. After watching a few videos with explanation on different features of the programs, I learned that there are many ways you can edit pictures and videos that I had never heard of before. Watching these tutorials in class helped me clearly decide what program I would prefer to use for my AICE exam. The first set of tutorials we watched was on Adobe Premiere Pro. Although I am more familiar with editing videos rather than photos, the tutorials pointed out many editing tools I had never heard of before. One of the tutorials shows that you can use the “razor tool” to cut different pieces of your video, which makes removing clips of scenes we don't need much much easier. In another Premiere Pro explanation video, it is mentioned that you can add and edit audio over your video, which makes voice overs and background music much easier to incooperate.
