Preliminary Layout

TITLE: The High School Jock SETTINGS: start in a school bus on the way to school, walking onto school campus, going into classroom (hallways), classroom CHARACTERS: 3 female teenagers age 17- Alex, Sabrina, and Victoria (Vic) all best friends, get along very well, very goofy and arrive careless group of friends, mostly stay in their own group but have others who will interact with them. ACTION/S: Alex, Sabrina, and Victoria are on the bus on the way to school carrying on a casual conversation, to school and get off bus to start walking onto campus, walking onto campus going through hallways on their way to classroom, all go to first period together and sit down, bell rings and class starts. PLOTLINE: the three girls are on the bus on the way to school carrying on a casual conversation when a group of boys who like to annoy them approach. The girls try to ignore them but when their annoyance gets out of hand they retaliate with silly comments to “offend” the boys (for example something about smelling bad or having bad style). After the boys leave, the bus arrives to school and the girls exit to start walking to class. While walking to class the girls come across many strange people in the hallways, to give a more comedic effect to the movie, but just continue to walk to class. When the girls get to class, they take their seats next to a boy they are friends with but has a very different personality then them. They start by saying hey to him and asking about his weekend, which he responds with something very random and odd, also for comedic effect. In the middle of the conversation, the “pretty popular girl” walks into class, giving the girls a snobby look in which they respond in a way to show they don’t care. The bell rings and class starts.

Post Production 2- Filming Process and Editing

           Skylar and I began reshooting the second take of our film on Monday. We planned this process to take 2 days, allowing us to have enough time to assure the clips were ideal and went together smoothly. The first day of filming we began by filming the scenes in the hallways and in the classroom. We shot each scene a few times in order to have options for clips we could use while editing, and made sure to hit different angles to capture various emotions. Because the first day of filming took place during one of our class periods, we had limited time to use the classroom. We wrapped up the first day of filming by filming the scene with the teacher and discussed coming back to film again the next day.      Day two of filming began after school on Tuesday. Peer Review

     Last week as a class, we started presenting our films and magazine projects in order to receive feedback and some critical criticism from our teacher and peers. Skylar and I volunteered to show our film first and took notes on the criticism we received. Overall, most the class didn’t have anything too harsh to say. It was commonly stated that it was hard to hear the actors, specifically the teacher in the theater scene, due to having to wear masks and not having a professional microphone. Their advice was to lower the background music or to in cooperate subtitles to let the audience know what is being said clearly. Some other suggestions brought to our attention were to use less transitions, fix lighting in some scenes, as well as including a larger variety of camera angles. Title Sequence Clip Review

Films and movies are watched by everyone, sometimes throughout someone's entire life like me for example. People watch movies as a form of entertainment and a way to pass time. But what most people don't notice about movies is that the entirety of the film has meaning, including the introduction and opening sequences. For example, the fonts, colors, and music used in the beginning sequences help give an insight to what the movie might entail. For example, in the opening of the movie "SCREAM," the title is shown in red and blue flashing lights to resemble police car lights, and then fades to just solid red to represent blood. Just the color of the title and the abrupt shift of colors can help infer that the movie could possibly be about bloody actions and trying to get the cops involved but can't.
